The consumed ampere-hours are calculated by integrating the current flowing into and out of the battery.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe remaining battery capacity depends on the consumed ampere-hours, the discharge current, the temperature and the age of the battery. Complex software algorithms are required to take all these variables into account. The mid-point voltage is the voltage at the halfway point of the string. Ideally, the mid-point voltage is exactly half of the total voltage.\u003cbr\u003eIn practice, however, deviations occur. These depend on numerous factors, such as a different state of charge in new batteries or cells, different temperatures, internal leakage currents, capacities and many more.\u003cbr\u003eLarge or increasing deviations in the mid-point voltage indicate improper battery care or a faulty battery or cell.
