The charging process of a lead-acid battery becomes particularly inefficient when the 80% mark of the state of charge is reached. This leads to energy efficiencies of only 50%. In solar systems, this value is even lower, as energy reserves for several days are required there (the battery operates in a state of charge between 70% and 100%).
