IBS RBM+ (Relay Booster Module) 12-V, upgrade for IBS-DBS

Must not be combined with the IBS-DBM 20A, IBS-DBM 20 AS or IBS-DBR. These products already have the RBM+ function integrated.

The RMB+ Relay Booster Module (the Plus stands for extended temperature range) is an optional upgrade kit for the IBS-DBS dual battery system. With IBS-DBS, an emergency start from the auxiliary battery (Aux) is always possible if the starter battery supplies 8.5V or more and the auxiliary battery has sufficient charge. With well-maintained and regularly charged batteries, an emergency start without RBM+ is always possible. If vehicles are used in harsh conditions, are on ferries, in containers or the headlights were forgotten to be switched off, the starter battery may be discharged below 8.5V due to prolonged discharge, cell short circuit or a defective battery housing. In this application, an installed RBM+ helps to perform an emergency start from the auxiliary battery despite a poor starter battery condition. RBM+ extends the range for emergency start of the starter battery's state of charge from approx. 8.5V to approx. 5.5V. For an emergency start, the charge on the auxiliary battery (Aux) should be between 50% and 100%, depending on its size.
