For those who plan extreme undertakings, e.g. at relatively high altitudes and/or those who are enthusiastic about or even dependent on its simple maintainability and enormous fuel selection.
Of course, the option to burn diesel is an interesting backup, especially for off-road vehicle tours!

Our advice from our own experience:

The MSR XGK EX is not a normal camping stove that you just let simmer while doing 5 other things - at least not without experience!
Anyone who wants to use this stove should practice with it beforehand. In our opinion, it's best to do so outdoors, without an awning or anything similar above it.
It definitely requires a bit more know-how than, for example, with the WhisperLite in cartridge mode!
But if you follow the instructions and get to grips with it, you'll get an absolutely loyal companion.
Good to know: the XGK EX is relatively loud. This is probably due to its power.
You'll certainly be the center of attention with it. But it's also fun to cook with and is also suitable for small groups.
