REDARC BCDC1240D, Battery Charger, DC-DC Dual Input, 12V 40A, MPPT Regulator

The RedArc BCDC1240D 12V 40A is a DC/DC battery charger and is perfectly suited for mounting in the engine compartment. It is encapsulated, making it resistant to heat, water, and dust.

It is equipped with an MPPT solar controller that can charge from both the solar system and the alternator. With the built-in Green Power Priority, it prioritizes solar charging first, which means less strain on the alternator.

The device is ideal for 12V or 24V vehicle systems and works with standard or smart alternators.

The BCDC1240D also features charging profiles, including a lithium charging profile, which is perfect for use with a lithium battery as an auxiliary battery. The dual input continues to charge all other battery types, including AGM, GEL, standard lead-acid, and calcium batteries.

It is generally used for lead-acid batteries over 200Ah and lithium batteries over 100Ah. Please check the manufacturer's specifications for your battery and ensure that the continuous current rating of the charger does not exceed the maximum charging current recommended by the manufacturer. For small batteries, the BCDC1225 69-02003 is recommended.

The BCDC technology allows to extend the battery life and charge it to 100%. High capacity batteries may require several cycles to be fully charged.
