REDARC Smart Start, Battery Isolator, SBI 12V 100A, with Dual Sensing

The REDARC Smart Start SBI12 is a microprocessor-controlled battery isolator used in dual battery systems as a solenoid priority system. It protects the starter battery from excessive discharge while allowing the auxiliary battery to power other necessary loads. The SBI12D provides 12 volts DC with a continuous output of 100 A.

Dual Sensing
The dual-sensing model is used to isolate the starter and auxiliary batteries in a system where the auxiliary battery can also be charged by an external source such as solar cells or an external AC battery charger. With the SBI12D, the starter battery can also be charged from the external source once the auxiliary battery reaches 132 volts.

The battery isolator is mainly used in 4WD and commercial vehicles and contains electronic components that prevent the relay from generating excessive voltage spikes. It features low standby current consumption, sophisticated fault detection, and an LED operating indicator that warns the user of faults such as overvoltage, undervoltage, and excessive current consumption.
