REDARC Smart Start, Battery Isolator, SBI 12V 200A

The REDARC Smart Start SBI212 is a microprocessor-controlled battery isolator that is used in dual battery systems as a solenoid priority system. It protects the starter battery from excessive discharge while allowing the auxiliary battery to power other essential loads. The SBI2 provides 12 volts DC with a continuous rating of 200 A.

The battery isolator is mainly used in 4x4 and commercial vehicles and contains electronic components that prevent the relay from generating excessive voltage spikes. It features low standby current draw, sophisticated fault detection, and an LED operational indicator that alerts the user to faults such as over-voltage, voltage drop, and excessive current draw.

It can also be used in conjunction with a battery charger (BCDC) to jump-start the starter battery from the auxiliary battery if it fails.
