Sika® Primer-207 – Your reliable primer for strong bonds
The Sika® Primer-207 is an indispensable black, solvent-based primer that, through its moisture-reactive, film-forming property, acts as an efficient link between the substrate and the adhesive. Developed specifically for pre-treating bonding surfaces in combination with Sikaflex® adhesives, this primer offers excellent adhesion on numerous substrates even without the use of Sika® Activator. A special feature of Sika® Primer-207 is its fluorescence under long-wave UV light, which is used for process controls.
Pigmented, versatile primer
The Sika® Primer-207 is ideal for improving adhesion on a variety of surfaces such as glass, ceramic-coated glass, plastics, primers, painted surfaces, e-coats, and metals. However, observe the manufacturer's recommendations when applying to stress-cracking-prone materials. Preliminary tests with original materials are recommended to avoid stress cracks. This product is specifically designed for experienced users to ensure optimal adhesion and material compatibility.
Product advantages
- Improved adhesion on a variety of substrates
- Visibility under UV light
- Simple and efficient application
Processing
Shake Sika® Primer-207 very well until the steel balls in the container are clearly audible. Then continue shaking for another minute. Application can be done with a brush, felt, or foam applicator. Apply Sika® Primer-207 evenly, thinly, but opaquely.
The optimal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
Apply the primer only once. Ensure that the single application provides sufficient coverage.
Consumption and method of application depend on the nature of the substrates.
Close the container tightly immediately after each use.
Application instructions
Before application, you should thoroughly shake the Sika® Primer-207. Application is done using a brush, felt, or foam applicator and should be even, thin, but opaque. Ensure that the optimal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C and that the primer is applied only once. Consumption and method of application vary depending on the nature of the substrates. Close the container carefully after each use. Cleaning and pre-treatment For optimal adhesion, surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease, oil, dust, and other contaminants. Additional pre-treatment steps such as sanding, cleaning, and activation can further improve adhesion before primer application.
