BatteryProtect 12/24V 220A by Victron Battery Protection

The BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from less critical loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage it) or before it no longer has enough energy to start the engine.

12/24 V automatic voltage range detection

The BatteryProtect automatically detects the system voltage.

Easy Programming

The BatteryProtect can be set to turn on and off at several different voltages. The seven-segment display then indicates which setting has been selected.

A special setting for lithium-ion batteries

In this mode, the BatteryProtect can be controlled by the VE.Bus BMS. Note: The BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge breaker between a battery charger and a Li-ion battery. See wiring diagram in the manual.

Extremely low power consumption

This is important in the case of lithium-ion batteries, especially after shutdown due to a low voltage level. Please also refer to our data sheet on lithium-ion batteries and the VE.Bus BMS manual for more information.

Overvoltage protection

To prevent sensitive loads from being damaged by overvoltage, the load is always switched off when the DC voltage exceeds 16 V or 32 V.

Ignition protection

No relays but MOSFET switches and therefore no sparking. Output for delayed alarm The alarm output is activated when the battery voltage drops below the preset shutdown value for more than 12 seconds. Starting the engine therefore does not activate the alarm. The alarm output is a short-circuit protected open collector output connected to the negative (minus) rail. Max. current 50 mA. The alarm output is normally used to activate an audible signal, an LED or a relay.

Load disconnect and reconnect delay

The load is switched off 90 seconds after the alarm is activated. If the battery voltage rises again within this period (after the engine has been started, for example) to the connection threshold, the load is not switched off. The load is reconnected 30 seconds after the battery voltage has exceeded the preset reconnect voltage value.
