25 A Charger/Charge Booster from Victron
DC-DC converter for charging a 12 V or 24 V battery in vehicles with a smart alternator
Particularly suitable for regenerative braking, Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines.
The Buck-Boost DC-DC converter is a DC-DC converter for charging a 12V or 24V battery in vehicles with a smart alternator. The converter charges the auxiliary battery with a preset charging voltage, eliminating high voltages (e.g. Mercedes: 15.4V) and low voltages.
Charge booster for recreational vehicles
The Buck-Boosters ensure fast and efficient charging of the leisure battery from the alternator while driving. Unlike a simple battery isolator, the charging voltage is increased to the value necessary for a full charge for the respective battery type and required by the battery manufacturers. This allows the full charging current to flow and considerable amounts of current to be charged into the battery in a short time. Long charging cables and losses, as well as voltage fluctuations at the alternator, are precisely regulated.
The free programmability allows the device to boost the voltage (from 12 V to 24 V), buck the voltage (24 V to 12 V), or simply adjust to the appropriate charging voltage (12/12 V or 24/24 V systems)
"Engine running" state detection system
Deep discharge of the vehicle's starter battery is prevented by a built-in system that detects when the "engine is running". Instead of this detection system, however, the converter can also be activated by a programmable input (D+, CANbus or (+)15 connection).
Fully programmable
The converter can be fully programmed using a simple and user-friendly PC application. (A USB Type A male to USB Type B male cable is required)
A product for 12V, 24V and 12/24V systems
The converter can be programmed to charge a 12V or 24V auxiliary battery via either a 12V or 24V alternator or a starter battery.
Input current limit
The output current is determined by the following factors:
- The setting of the maximum charging current.
- The setting of the maximum input current.
- The limitation of the converter's maximum operating temperature.
