Victron MultiPlus 12/500/20-16 Inverter 430W and 12V Charger 20A

Innovative Combination Device from Victron: Sine Wave Inverter and 12 V Battery Charger in one!

The Multiplus 12/500/20 from Victron is a combination device consisting of a 12V 430W sine wave inverter and a battery charger. The smartly integrated battery charger provides an impressive 20A, allowing batteries to be charged extremely quickly when shore/mains power is available. The 12V sine wave voltage converter integrated into the Multiplus transforms the 12V DC from the battery into 230V AC. Thanks to the true sine wave, the quality of the voltage is perfectly suited for sensitive electronic devices.

Versatile Use

The MultiPlus is a powerful true sine wave inverter, a sophisticated battery charger that uses adaptive charge technology, and a high-speed AC transfer switch in a single compact enclosure. Models are available from 800 VA to 5000 VA per module.

Unique PowerAssist Function

Peak loads often occur only for a limited period. In such a case, the MultiPlus ensures that insufficient shore power or generator power is immediately compensated by energy from the battery. If the load is reduced, i.e., consumers are switched off, the then sufficiently available energy can be used to charge the batteries.

Uninterruptible AC Power (UPS Function)

In the event of a grid failure or an interruption of shore power or the onboard generator, the inverter of the Multi is automatically switched on and takes over the supply of the connected consumers. The switchover happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is ensured.

Virtually Unlimited Power Through Parallel Operation

Up to six Multis can be connected in parallel for high power demands. Three-phase or split-phase operation is also possible. Please refer to our datasheets for which models are suitable for parallel, three-phase, and split-phase operation.

PowerControl – Working with Limited Generator Power, Limited Shore or Mains Power (500VA/800VA).

The Multi Control remote panel can be used to set the maximum mains or generator current to be drawn. The MultiPlus then takes into account other connected AC consumers and only uses the remaining current to charge. This prevents the generator or shore power connection from being overloaded.

Local Monitoring and Control

Several options are available: battery monitor, Multi Control panel, Ve.Net Blue Power panel, Color Control panel, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232).

Remote Monitoring and Control

If systems with a Color Control panel are connected to Ethernet, they can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.

Remote Configuration:

Victron Ethernet Remote, Venus GX and the Color Control panel. Data can be stored and viewed free of charge on the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.
