A MultiPlus-II with LCD and GX functionality
The MultiPlus-II GX integrates a MultiPlus-II inverter/charger and a GX device with a 2 x 16 character display, which shows system parameters.
The integrated GX device includes:
• A BMS-Can interface. This can be used to connect to a compatible CAN-bus managed battery. Please note that this is not a VE.Can compatible connection.
• A USB port.
• An Ethernet port.
• A VE.Direct port
PowerControl and PowerAssist – Boosting grid or generator power
A maximum grid or generator current can be set. The MultiPlus-II then takes into account other connected AC loads and only uses the remaining current to charge the battery. This prevents the generator or grid connection from being overloaded (PowerControl function). With the PowerAssist function, the PowerControl principle gains a new dimension. Peak loads often only occur for a limited period. In such a case, the MultiPlus-II immediately compensates for insufficient generator, shore power or grid power with energy from the battery. If the load is reduced, i.e., consumers are switched off, the then sufficiently available energy can be used to charge the batteries.
Solar power: AC even in the event of a power outage
The MultiPlus-II can be used with off-grid and grid-connected PV systems as well as with other alternative energy systems. It can be used with both solar charge controllers and grid-connected inverters.
Two AC outputs
The main output ensures uninterrupted operation. In the event of a power outage or an interruption in shore/generator power, the MultiPlus-II takes over the supply of the connected consumers. The transfer happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is ensured. The second output only supplies power when AC is available at the MultiPlus-II input. Consumers that must not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.
Practically unlimited power through parallel and three-phase operation
Up to six Multis can be connected in parallel for high power requirements. For example, six 48/5000/70 units result in 25 kW/30 kVA output power with 420 A charging capacity. Apart from the parallel connection, three units of the same model can also be configured for a three-phase output. But that's not all: by connecting up to 6 sets of three devices in parallel, you get 75 kW/90 kVA inverter power or 1200 A charging current. Only one GX unit is required for parallel and three-phase operation.
On-site system configuration, monitoring and control
Settings can be changed within minutes using the VEConfigure software (a computer or laptop and an MK3-USB interface are required). Several monitoring and control options are available: Color Control GX, Venus GX, Octo GX, CANvu GX, laptop, computer, Bluetooth ( with the optional VE.Bus Smart Dongle), battery monitor, Digital Multi control panel.
