Votronic 20A-12V Battery Charger PB1220 SMT2B for Lead-Acid and Lithium Batteries

Votronic chargers are characterized by high operational reliability and readiness for use, thus representing the latest state of the art. All charging programs are applied by the charger for gentle full charging and then for trickle charging of the battery, also with temperature compensation adapted to the battery type when a temperature sensor is used. The supply of connected consumers is taken over during charging, dimensioned such that during the I-phase (initial charge) no more than 50% flows into the consumers.

With fully charged batteries, almost the entire possible device charging current is then available for the consumers, without the batteries being discharged.

Selectable charging programs / charging curves:

"LiFePO4": Charging program specially for lithium batteries

Charging program tailored to lithium LiFePo4 batteries with their own BMS and prescribed or built-in protective circuitry. A special resting charge automatically keeps the LiFePO4 battery at a charge level of 50-80% which is advantageous for its lifespan when the vehicle is parked (seasonal operation), while also buffering 12 V consumers and the vehicle's starter battery. In addition, a regular Auto Wake Up function activates battery cell balancing.

1. "Gel": Charging program for Gel batteries, characteristic curve IU1oU2oU3

Tailored to sealed, gas-tight Gel/dryfit batteries with fixed electrolyte, which generally require a higher charging voltage level and longer U1 holding times to achieve short charging times with particularly high capacity storage and to avoid long-term battery "starvation". Perfectly suited for our WATTSTUNDE Gel batteries, among others.

2. "AGM": Charging program for AGM / Fleece batteries, characteristic curve IU1oU2oU3

Intended for charging sealed, gas-tight AGM (Absorbent-Glass-Mat) batteries and those in lead-fleece technology, which require a particularly high U1 level with coordinated holding times for full charging and then a moderate U2 level for trickle charging (round cell and plate technology).

4. "UNIVERSAL": Charging program for lead-acid/wet batteries, characteristic curve IU1oU2oU3

Universal program for charging and trickle charging of acid batteries in vehicles (mixed mobile/stationary). Offers short charging times with a medium U1 level, a good charging factor and good acid mixing for open and closed, low-maintenance, maintenance-free standard, traction, lighting, solar and heavy-duty batteries as well as AGM batteries with normal U1 level.
