How much charge does my leisure battery still have? Is the battery really full? Why is energy being drawn from the battery even though consumers are switched off?

The VOTRONIC LCD Battery Computer S answers these questions precisely to the percentage (%) and amp-hour (Ah). At the touch of a button, it provides comprehensive information about the current state of charge of the battery, the flowing battery currents, and the battery voltage.

The device is constantly in contact with "its battery" and thus registers and evaluates all battery actions. All charge and discharge currents are meticulously counted, and battery size, self-discharge, battery load, etc., are taken into account using programmed characteristic curve fields. Even the smallest leakage currents are detected and registered. From the measured values and the battery size, the remaining capacity of the battery is then calculated. The result is the correct display of the state of charge (the remaining usable capacity, remaining charge) of the leisure battery as a numerical value in amp-hours ("Ah") and in percent ("%"), as well as a clear bar graph, similar to a fuel gauge.

The LCD Battery Computer S is suitable for all battery types (acid, gel, AGM, lithium adjustable) with 12V and 24V battery voltage. Of course, the current battery voltage ("V") and the current battery current ("A") are also available on the display. Discharge currents (consumers) are indicated by a minus sign. Charging currents are also indicated by a clearly legible "Charge" symbol. Independently, there is another display option for the voltage of a second battery, e.g., for monitoring the vehicle's starter battery.
A ready-to-connect cable connects the display completely to a robust precision measuring resistor (shunt), which is connected directly to the negative pole of the leisure battery and from which the battery voltages and currents are taken.

• Starter battery voltage
• Battery current (Charge = "+" ; Discharge = "-")
• Load from consumers
• Battery capacity "Ah" (remaining charge in amp-hours)
• Battery capacity "%" (remaining charge in percent)
• Switching output (freely programmable)
• Flashing warning display for undervoltage or overvoltage

Can I program the battery computer additionally?

The LCD Battery Computer S has a freely programmable switching output for control, monitoring, and warning purposes, e.g., to automatically switch consumers or issue a warning depending on the state of charge of the leisure battery (0-100%). Switching on and off points are freely and independently adjustable in %, allowing for any switching functions. In addition, these can be manually overridden at any time by pressing a button. Application example: Automatic protection of the battery against harmful deep discharge, consumers are switched off precisely according to the state of charge, e.g., when the state of charge is less than 25%

How is the battery computer connected?

A ready-to-connect cable completely connects the LCD display to a robust precision measuring resistor (shunt), which is connected directly to the negative pole of the leisure battery and from which the battery voltages and currents are taken. This is also where the switching output for connecting signal generators or powerful switching relays is located.

Can I use a different shunt?

The display is delivered with a suitable measuring shunt. The devices are matched to the measuring shunts included in the scope of delivery and cannot be operated in conjunction with other measuring shunts or exchanged among themselves!
