Votronic MPP360CI Solar Charge Controller up to 360 W
Effective battery charging for motorhomes, caravans, boats and off-grid solar systems!
Votronic solar controllers of the "MPP" (Maximum Power Point) series with "IU1oU2" charging characteristics are connected between the solar panel(s) and battery(ies). With MPP technology, the controller automatically determines the maximum power output (MPP) of the solar modules several times per second. It then transforms the voltage surplus of the solar module into a higher charging current for the battery (achieved through high-frequency switching regulator technology with high efficiency). This gain in charging current ensures shorter charging times and the best possible utilization of the solar system's power. The MPP solar controllers operate fully automatically, are maintenance-free and offer the following functions:
Features at a glance:
- MPPT charging (Maximum Power Point Tracking)
- CI-Bus connection: for displaying all relevant data on a central vehicle display
- 8 switchable charging curves for lead, gel, AGM and LiFePO4 batteries
- Two battery charging outputs: Automatic charging of the main supply battery (12V) as well as trickle charging and charge retention (max. 1 A) of the vehicle starter battery (Start) with protection against overcharging
- Measurement output for EBL: Allows convenient use of a (solar) current display integrated in the electrical block to monitor the solar system
- AES switching output: Causes refrigerators with "AES" to automatically switch from gas to 12 V operation when there is a continuous surplus of solar power.
- Overcharge protection: Reduces the charging current of the battery when there is too much solar power and the battery is full, ensuring the highest possible state of charge for the battery by immediately recharging when power is consumed.
- Parallel/buffer operation: Compliance with charging regulations even when consumers are operating simultaneously.
- "IU1oU2" charging characteristic: Defined increase in charging voltage (U1) prevents harmful acid stratification (lead) and ensures equalization charging of individual battery cells (lead and lith.), followed by automatic float charging (U2).
- On-board power supply filter: Problem-free parallel operation with wind and engine generators, mains chargers, alternators, etc.
- The charging voltage is free of peaks and regulated so that overcharging of the batteries is impossible.
- Connection for battery temperature sensor: Temperature sensor is absolutely necessary when a lithium characteristic curve is set!
The Votronic MPP charge controllers are manufactured in Germany and are among the most powerful and reliable charge controllers on the market.
The MPP series from Votronic works with the Maximum Power Point Tracking principle. With MPP technology, the controller automatically determines the maximum power output of the solar modules several times per second. It then transforms the voltage surplus of the solar module into a higher charging current for the battery (achieved through high-frequency switching regulator technology with high efficiency). This gain in charging current ensures shorter charging times and the best possible utilization of the solar system's power.
As an additional special feature, the charge controller offers the possibility of continuously charging the vehicle starter battery with an auxiliary charging output. Note: A temperature sensor is necessary for charging a lithium-ion battery.
