Automatic recharging and battery maintenance

The VOTRONIC StandBy Charger is used for automatic recharging and charge maintenance of the starter battery or auxiliary battery if the mains charger, solar charge controller or generator only has one charging output. The device can be easily retrofitted by simply connecting it between the leisure battery and starter battery or leisure battery and auxiliary battery, without having to change the existing wiring.

If, for example, the mains charger is in operation and charging the leisure battery, a small part of the charging current is used to charge the second battery (starter battery or auxiliary battery), depending on the state of charge. This charge maintenance works automatically and can be recognized by an increased voltage level of the second battery. Overcharging of the second battery is ruled out, as the charging voltage is reduced by at least 0.6V and the charging current is limited to 3A (24V variant: 2A).
