There are numerous types of connecting terminals, be it the familiar luster terminal, junction box terminal, or rail-mounted terminal. With the WAGO connecting terminal, unlike all other terminals, you can connect any type of conductor completely tool-free.

Lever-operated push-in connectors like the WAGO terminal are suitable for both multi-stranded and solid electrical conductor types. Our range of WAGO terminals includes 2, 3, and 5-conductor terminals in 4 and 6 mm² variants. This variation offers diverse application possibilities, especially where different conductor types and cross-sections meet. Connecting conductors with these terminals is easier than with any other, and wiring is time-saving and reliable. When using luster terminals with multi-stranded wires, ferrule crimps usually need to be attached. This step is eliminated with WAGO connecting terminals, as there is no risk of wires protruding or being damaged by screws with these terminals. Another big advantage is that conductors with different cross-sections can be attached in the connecting terminal. And all this without additional tools.

How does wiring with WAGO terminals work?

WAGO terminals are very small and compact. Due to their extremely small dimensions, they are ideal for tight spaces. This makes the terminals very convenient to install and also creates space for possible extensions. Operation is intuitive, and connecting conductors is quick and easy. The levers can be opened and closed with little effort. Thanks to side grip recesses, WAGO terminals are always firmly in hand. The procedure for connecting conductors is as follows:

1. Strip the desired conductors
2. Open the WAGO terminal with the lever
3. Insert the conductors
4. Close the lever

The transparent housing allows you to continuously check the conductor position. The contact point is gas-tight, ensuring permanently secure contact between the conductor and the busbar. Two easily accessible test ports (one is in the direction of the conductor connection and the other on the opposite side) make testing conditions very convenient, even when installed. The application is suitable for ambient temperatures of up to 85 °C, and the maximum terminal temperature according to the UL standard is 105 °C. WAGO terminals have globally recognized approvals. If you want to disconnect conductors from each other again, that is also easily possible. As with insertion, the lever is opened and the cable is removed.

Connecting cables is one of the most common tasks when connecting electronic devices in the household, converting a camper, or installing solar modules. Since WAGO terminals can connect both multi-stranded and solid conductors, the application possibilities are versatile. In addition, the terminals can be used with any cable cross-section, which makes them so flexible and compatible for every application. Two application examples are, for instance, connecting solar modules to charge controllers or connecting consumers to a battery.
