WAGO Green Range Connecting Terminal with Lever – Series 221-425: Fast, safe, and now more sustainable

Even small changes can make a big difference – that's why the WAGO connecting terminal from series 221 has been redesigned. The new Green Range variant is partly made from bio-circular and recycled plastics, thus contributing to the conservation of natural resources. Without compromising on quality and safety, it remains the proven solution for fast, safe, and flexible electrical installations.

With a rated voltage of 450 V and a current carrying capacity of up to 32 A, the terminal is ideal for a wide range of applications. Thanks to the innovative CAGE CLAMP® technology, conductors can be connected without tools, and without the need for pre-treatment or ferrules. The compact dimensions (30 x 8.4 x 18.6 mm) allow for space-saving installation, while the transparent housing ensures quick visual inspection. The terminals in this series have five conductors, meaning five clamping points, and come in packs of 25.

How does wiring with WAGO terminals work?

WAGO terminals are very small and compact. Due to their extremely small dimensions, they are ideal for tight spaces. This allows the terminals to be installed very conveniently and also creates free space for possible extensions. Operation is intuitive, and connecting conductors is quick and easy. The levers can be opened and closed with little effort. Thanks to side grip recesses, the WAGO terminals are always firmly held in any situation. The procedure for connecting conductors is as follows:

1. Strip the desired conductors
2. Open the WAGO terminal with the lever
3. Insert the conductors
4. Close the lever

The transparent housing allows you to constantly check the conductor position. The contact point is gas-tight, which ensures a permanently secure contact of the conductor with the busbar. Two easily accessible test openings (one is in the conductor connection direction and the other on the opposite side) make testing conditions very comfortable even when installed. The application is suitable for ambient temperatures of up to 85 °C, and the maximum terminal temperature according to UL standard is 105 °C. WAGO terminals have globally recognized approvals. If you want to disconnect conductors from each other, this is also possible without problems. As with insertion, the lever is opened here, and the cable is removed.

Connecting cables is one of the most common tasks when connecting electronic devices in the household, when expanding a camper, or when attaching solar modules. Since WAGO terminals can connect both stranded and solid conductors, the application possibilities are versatile. In addition, the terminals can be used with any cable cross-section, which makes them so flexible and compatible for every application. Two examples of applications are connecting solar modules to charge controllers or connecting consumers to a battery.
