WATTSTUNDE® AGM Battery 33 Ah with VRLA Technology

A cycle-proof solar battery, perfect for off-grid applications

Solar systems often experience cyclic charging and discharging processes, which places a high strain on the energy storage. Wattstunde AGM batteries are an excellent choice because they have high cycle stability and thus a long service life even when used in a PV system. High robustness (high vibration and tilt resistance) ensures reliable operation even under harsh conditions.

Battery Construction
These are valve-regulated, maintenance-free VRLA batteries. The electrolyte is bound in a fiberglass fleece (AGM = Absorbent Glass Mat), so there is practically no gassing. This allows them to be used in enclosed spaces or in close proximity to people.
Another advantage of AGM technology: Due to their leak-proof design, it is possible to install the battery in any position (i.e., not just horizontally), guaranteeing maximum installation flexibility. In case of a fault (e.g., connection of a defective charger), the integrated safety valve ensures that gas can escape.

Features at a glance:

  • Maintenance-free due to sealed construction
  • Long service life and high cycle stability
  • Robust, spill- and leak-proof
  • Easy shipping, as it is not hazardous goods
  • Install upright
  • Warranty period: 2 years

Notes on Battery Capacity
The amount of energy that can be drawn from a battery heavily depends on the period over which the battery is discharged. This is represented by the so-called C-value. The number after the C describes the discharge duration in hours. The faster the battery is discharged, the smaller the usable amount of energy.
When discharged within 20 hours (C20), 33 Ah are available.

Note

AGM batteries should ideally not be discharged deeper than 50%, which corresponds to a resting voltage of about 12.25 V to 12.3 V (at 50% state of charge), to maximize their lifespan; deep discharge below 11.8 V should be avoided, as this significantly reduces performance and cycle life, although some special AGM types (semi-traction) can go up to 70%, 50% is the standard for most applications.
